Coffee and donuts delivered to your doorstep? Dunkin Donuts’ CEO says the company is conducting a “private test” of a delivery service. “Delivery is clearly a big opportunity,” said Dunkin’ Brands CEO Nigel Travis, in an interview with CNBC. “The trend in this country is convenience. I think the next few years you’re going to see us get more and more into delivery.” He says Dunkin Donuts will likely launch mobile ordering sometime this year. The announcement comes as rival Starbucks is a testing an app-based delivery service in the northwest. McDonald’s and Chipotle are experimenting with food delivery in New York. Amazon Prime is also offering one-hour grocery delivery from New York City stores.
