Professional Experience

2018 to present: Meteorologist and Weather Producer, WINK News. Previously worked as a meteorologist at WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach S.C. and as a weather forecaster at WRUF-TV in Gainesville, Fla.

Awards & Recognition

Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society.

I covered Hurricane Matthew in 2016 as the storm went right over Myrtle Beach and covered Irma’s significant impact to the area as a tropical storm in 2017.

News Philosophy

Our job as meteorologists isn’t just to forecast the weather. It’s explaining the science to you, the viewer, in a fun, accurate and engaging way!

Hobbies, Interests & Community Involvement

I love exploring the outdoors with friends, family, and especially my puppy, Roger! I much prefer Diet Coke over coffee. I love to learn and would attend school for the rest of my life (and forecast the weather on the side) if I could. I enjoy being active as a dancer and swimmer, but football is my favorite sport - although I never played. Growing up an Auburn fan, I’ll always have a loyalty to the Tigers, but my main sports teams are the Florida Gators, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. I’m an alumni of the Chi Omega Fraternity and very passionate about our philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication with a certificate in Meteorology and Climatology from the University of Florida

Weekend rainfall expected to bring relief to SW Florida

Happy Thursday, Southwest Florida! This afternoon, everyone will see highs soar into the mid-upper 80s with plentiful sunshine. Elevated wind, drier-than-normal conditions, and low humidity are contributing to a very high fire danger index for Lee County today. Relief from the fire risk and our rain deficit is on the way by Sunday! The tail […]

Even warmer, stray shower possible Wednesday in SW Florida

Happy Hump Day! Highs spring into the upper 70s and lower 80s near the coast this afternoon with mid-upper 80s inland. Our most notable change Wednesday is a localized, small chance of rain in southern Collier County this evening. But this rain won’t accumulate and won’t be nearly enough to help with our rain deficit! As […]

Warm, dry conditions keep fire danger high across SW Florida this week

Happy Tuesday, Southwest Florida! After a cool start, we soar to the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon with abundant sunshine. Here’s a small, yet significant, change this afternoon: our fire danger index is increasing due to wind becoming breezy at times, dry conditions, and low humidity. The wind is expected to increase even […]

Warm, dry start to the week across SW Florida

Happy Monday! With dry air still in place, highs will soar into the low 80s inland and upper 70s along the coastline this afternoon. Wind stays breezy at times today. Add in low humidity and drier-than-normal conditions, we have an elevated fire danger again for parts of SWFL. Although we slowly warm up this week, our […]

Cooler, drier and breezy weather moves into SW Florida

It’s not the humidity that’ll hit you like a brick wall today… it’s the cooler and drier air! We mix in a ton of sunshine this afternoon as highs soar to the mid-upper 70s. It’ll be a pleasant day with a breezy wind. That wind still keeps our local wave heights elevated today. Be safe […]

Showers and storms expected Thursday along a cold front

Happy Thursday, Southwest Florida! The Weather Authority has been tracking pockets of heavy rain, mainly south of the Caloosahatchee this morning. This is prefrontal rain as we have multiple rounds expected throughout the afternoon and evening hours. Later today, sunshine peeking through the clouds will allow for minor instability. This is expected to force a […]

Near-record heat possible Wednesday before a late-week cooldown

Happy Hump Day! Highs will soar this afternoon to the upper 80s with near-record heat once again. Even if we don’t get there, we are well above average with normal conditions for late March in the low 80s. The summer-like pattern continues as spotty showers bubble up around 1 p.m. for parts of the region. […]

Summer-like afternoon expected across SW Florida

Happy Tuesday! Get ready for another scorcher as highs soar into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. Near-record heat is possible for both Fort Myers and Naples, expected to stay just below the official numbers. This significant daytime heating will allow for another round of spotty showers beginning around 4 p.m. Rain will […]

Few spotty showers possible in SWFL Monday afternoon

Grab the umbrella before you head out this morning! The Weather Authority is tracking big changes. We’ll have more cloud cover today mixing in with Monday sunshine. Highs will peak in the upper 80s. This afternoon, due to a sea breeze influence from both coasts, a few spotty showers will bubble up beginning around 4 […]

Warming trend underway across SW Florida

Happy Tuesday Southwest Florida! Highs will skyrocket this afternoon to the low-mid 80s with tons of sunshine. Wind dies down today, which will provide a picture perfect afternoon for any boating plans. Breezy conditions return late this week as a ridge of high pressure builds in. This will crank up highs to the upper 80s […]
