A popular spot known for supplying the best music is saying goodbye.

Brent’s Music has been a staple for years but Hurricane Ian was just too much for the store.

Now the store owners and those who have worked there for years are sharing their memories of working there.

Some customers stopped by on Tuesday to say their goodbyes. The store will close in less than two weeks. They’re holding a sale to sell what is left.

The owners will move on after 45 years in the business.

“It’s tough on me,” said Brent Wedler, owner of Brent’s Music Headquarters. “It’s one of the hardest things I ever did was make that post that we’re going to close. But you know, unfortunately, it has to be and, you know, we have to move on.”

Wedler posted to Facebook that the damage done by Hurricane Ian is too much to overcome.

It won’t be an easy goodbye.

General Manager Stephen Soviero poured 35 years of life into the story.

“Watching generations and more in generations come in and buy gear and learn and fathers sons, grandsons, you know, it’s been an amazing experience,” Soviero said.

Customer Louis Crowley said it stinks.

“This is one of the few places you can go anymore, and have guys that really know what they’re talking about,” Crowley said.
