Naples police arrested a man on Sunday who is accused of raping a woman he met on Tinder.

Police say Corey Moir, 25, was arrested after they received a 911 call about the rape.

According to the Naples Police Department, Moir, a friend, the victim, and the victim’s roommate met to play minigolf at a Naples hotel on Sunday. Police say the victim and Moir knew each other through the Tinder dating app.

Police say the group went to their hotel room around midnight. Police say Moir’s friend left the room after attempting to kiss the victim’s roommate, leaving the victim, Moir, and the roommate in the room.

According to officers, the victim said she was kissing Moir, which was all she wanted to do when things escalated. She told police that her roommate went into the bathroom to give Moir and the victim privacy.

The victim told police that she told Moir she didn’t want to go any further, but police say the victim told them that once the roommate was in the bathroom, Moir forced himself on her.

Police say the victim eventually got away from Moir and made her way to the bathroom where her roommate was. Police say they called a family member to pick them up and called 911 as soon as they were away from the hotel.

Police say they matched Moir to the Tinder profile pictures provided by the victim and arrested him. They say Moir admitted to having sex with the victim but say he claimed it was consensual.

Moir is facing a charge of sexual battery.
