Monday brings above-average heat, less humidity

High temperatures will climb into the low to mid-80s under partly cloudy skies. The air will feel noticeably drier and more pleasant throughout the day, thanks to winds out of the northeast. Boaters will encounter light chop in our bays and only 1- to 2-foot Gulf wave heights.

A few showers are in Monday’s forecast. These will form inland and mainly hold off on forming until after the late afternoon. Severe weather is not expected. Most of our coastal communities will remain dry. These rain chances will disappear by midnight.

There are no active named storms or disturbances in the Atlantic. The Weather Authority is not forecasting any to form during this week. This is fantastic news, considering there are only 16 days left in our Atlantic hurricane season.
