Rain, gusty winds arrive Wednesday ahead of Nicole

High temperatures will reach the upper 70s and low 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Conditions will continue to deteriorate as Nicole approaches Florida’s east coast. Four- to 8-foot Gulf wave heights and rough chop within our bays are expected.

Gusty winds will persist all morning, afternoon and evening. These strong winds will be especially strong Wednesday night, with wind gusts exceeding 40 mph for many inland communities.

Multiple bands of rain will push through Southwest Florida throughout the day, with the highest rainfall totals focused inland. There is no tornado threat with these bands. These will be very fast-moving showers and storms.
