Lee County school district said schools will reopen on Friday

The school districts of Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, DeSoto and Glades counties canceled Thursday classes and scheduled student activities due to Nicole’s approach.

The School District of Lee County said classes will resume on Friday after officials determined no damage was sustained to their buildings as a result of this latest storm.

District officials will work with the District’s Calendar Committee and the Florida Department of Education to decide on when Thursday’s instructional time will be made up, the Lee County school district said.

In Lee County, Canterbury School closed on Thursday but will reopen on Friday.

All Oasis Charter schools were also closed on Thursday.

DeSoto plans to resume normal school hours on Friday.

Collier County schools said it will resume normal operations on Friday with early dismissal as previously scheduled.
