Security footage of the kidnapping and carjacking on Palm Beach Boulevard on Friday.

A woman was pumping gas at the Citgo on Palm Beach Boulevard when police say a man threatened her with a knife stole her truck, and drove away with her 3-year-old son inside.

The boy was found safe in the truck behind a business 3 blocks away.

WINK News obtained security footage of the incident.

In the video, you can see a man jumping into a pickup truck next to a gas pump. The man begins to drive off, while the mother is holding onto the truck, begging the man to let her child out of the vehicle. After the man drives off, the mother runs back to the gas station to ask for help from the bystanders.

Jessie Davis was working at a pet shop next door to where the boy was found.

“We saw a car parked there but we didn’t see any kids or nothing, and we were back there and everything looked normal there’s always cars parked there,” Davis said.

Davis said the area can be unsafe at times.

“This is not a great part of the neighborhood. So you kind of used to it,” Davis said.

Law enforcement is still looking for the suspect who was identified as a male in his 40s or 50s wearing a long green shirt and a camouflage fishing hat.
