A home dedication ceremony for an American Sign Language teacher that used her hand for more than just communication.

Audrey Rodriguez, an American Sign Language teacher and mother was looking for a place to call home just a few weeks ago.

Rodriguez finally walked into her own home for the first time after putting in over 700 hours of labor to raise the walls.

“I was getting tired of moving all the time and we were moving so much and I just wanted one place that we could call home and we could stay. I have two sons and my concern was for their future and how they were growing up,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez built her own home herself with the help of Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry counties.

Rodriguez closes on her home next month.
