Two convicted felons have been arrested again after being accused of six felonies for fleeing in a car deputies say was loaded with drugs and guns on Friday.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a car driven by Jacob Martinez, 26, of Naples, fled at nearly twice the speed limit when deputies attempted a traffic stop at 1:45 a.m.

Martinez eventually made an abrupt stop and ran away, tossing a black bag, deputies say.

Deputies arrested Martinez and found the bag. Passenger Joshua Centeno, 28, a documented gang member, was also arrested.

Deputies say they found a loaded AK-47 rifle in the car within reach of both Martinez and Centeno and 39 rounds of ammunition. Deputies also found various amounts of fentanyl and marijuana in the car and the bag.

Martinez faces three felony charges for fleeing/eluding a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of fentanyl. He faces resisting law enforcement without violence and driving with a suspended license, both misdemeanors.

Joshua Centeno, 28.

“Our brave deputies will not stop until dangerous contraband and dangerous people are off the street,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “This arrest is an excellent example of how hard CCSO works to keep our community safe.”

Centeno faces felony charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of fentanyl, and possession of marijuana over 20 grams.
