A Naples man was arrested on an out-of-county warrant after he was found on private property on Sunday.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on patrol spotted unusual activity in the area of Immokalee Road and County Line Road around 8:45 a.m.

They say the deputy spotted a truck with the engine running with nobody inside parked at an orange grove with no-trespassing signs posted.

The deputy could see several weapons, including a rifle, handgun, and cross-bow, in plain view inside the truck.

As the deputy looked around, Jose Rafael Rodriguez Iglesias, 27, of Naples, walked out of a row of orange trees dressed in camouflage.

When asked by the deputy what he was doing on private property, Rodriguez Iglesias said he had to relieve himself.

The deputy found Rodriguez Iglesias had active warrants out of Polk County for armed trespassing and illegal hunting. He was taken into custody.

The deputy then entered the grove where Rodriguez Iglesias walked out of and found a dead male deer that had been shot.

Florida Fish and Wildlife and Conservation Commission officers responded to investigate further.

“This arrest was the result of excellent proactive patrolling by a deputy,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.
