One of Collier County’s most prolific burglary suspects faces more charges after detectives say they found evidence from his storage unit linking him to a break-in at a Naples car wash last year.

Anatoly Kutsar, 40, has been in the Collier County jail since his arrest on Sept. 21, when he and an accomplice tried to elude deputies by tunneling through the drywall of a Naples hotel.

That arrest and investigation led to the discovery of a storage unit where detectives say the pair concealed hundreds of stolen items from a months-long Collier County crime spree.

Detectives have since charged Kutsar with multiple burglaries resulting in 44 charges and continue to turn up more evidence of more crimes.

“For nearly a year our detectives have been working diligently and painstakingly to return stolen property to the victims, coordinate with other agencies, and charge this prolific criminal accordingly,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.

Kutsar is a convicted felon out of Washington State. The most recent charges stem from his arrest Wednesday in connection with the Aug. 23, 2021, break-in at Your Choice Car Wash, 12481 Collier Blvd.

Detectives said Kutsar cut the wires of the digital video recorder (DVR) connected to the security cameras at the business and took the DVR with him. The DVR was later recovered inside the storage unit.

A CCSO forensic examination of the recovered DVR turned up security video footage in which detectives say Kutsar is shown on multiple cameras entering the property and committing the break-in. Kutsar used power tools to drill holes to gain entry to the business and its safes, causing an estimated $15,000 damage.

The distinctive red, white and blue tank top Kutsar was shown wearing on the security video was among the items detectives recovered in the storage unit. They also recovered a drill bit in the unit that was identical to one that had been left on the ground where detectives said the video shows Kutsar drilling out a lock to gain entry to the car wash.
