Get ready for a tough day of heat ahead: Temperatures will soar into the low to mid-90s by the afternoon.

With the higher humidity set to continue, we’ll see heat index values in the triple digits for some during the mid-afternoon hours.

A layer of Saharan dust that moved over Southwest Florida this past weekend will lead to another day of hazy sky conditions. Improvements are expected Tuesday as the dust begins to lift back out.

Some isolated storms will develop mainly after 3 p.m. Monday.

The highest chances will be focused on the western third of the Southwest Florida viewing area.

Hot, humid conditions will persist this week with daily chances for isolated rain and storms.

Rain chances will begin to increase as we move into Memorial Day weekend.
