Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies say Ryan James Gros, 43, was arrested when a search of his Pendleton Ave. apartment resulted in deputies finding Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and Trazadone, a drug classified as a ‘new legend drug.’ Drug paraphernalia was also found inside the apartment.

Deputies say the warrant was issued after multiple overdoses were responded to at the apartment, and because of tips provided by the community.

“When my deputies are knocking on your door with a search warrant, it’s already too late. I would much rather help someone through my Drug Addiction Recovery Initiative than bring them to jail, but that isn’t up to me; it’s up to the individual to make the choice. Until they do ask for help, we’re going to keep busting the dealers and users in Charlotte County,” said Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell in a post about the arrest.

Gros faces several drug charges and a habitual driving with a suspended license charge.

He is being held in the Charlotte County Jail.
