All of it is just gone,” Wible says. The shed fire destroyed five people’s homes in North Fort Myers, leaving them homeless. North Fort Myers Fire Department says one person suffered minor burns but was not taken to the hospital. A dog was exposed to the fire but wasn’t harmed. A spokesperson for the North Fort Myers Fire Department says the cause of the fire is heat exposure from a generator. Wible says, “the truck was on fire, not the camper at first, just the truck. And I tried to put it out but I couldn’t. And I tried to keep the camper wet. But it didn’t work. And when the window exploded. That’s when I knew I had to get my dog out of there. And I did. But I couldn’t get anything else after that.” The fire occurred on McDaniel drive it then spread to three campers in the area. All three campers are a total loss. The Red Cross said they are providing immediate assistance to help those affected start the road to recovery.
