WINK News received numerous reports of a possible UFO floating through the skies of Southwest Florida, so we looked into it and learned that it was not an alien spacecraft.

Chief Meteorologist Matt Devitt confirmed that the mysterious object was a balloon belonging to the company World View, floating at 65,000 feet in the stratosphere. The balloon floated from Tuscon, Arizona, to Southwest Florida.

World View released the following statement about Sunday’s balloon sightings:

The balloon spotted over the last couple days in Florida is one of our World View stratospheric balloons doing some routine testing. The flight is a continuation of our Stratollite program. We expect the testing to last for a few days.

The company also says it plans to use the balloons for space tourism starting in 2024 at $50,000 a seat. You can learn more about World View on their website by clicking here.
