Victim hospitalized after shooting on Southeast Van Loon Terrace in Cape Coral

One person has been hospitalized after a shooting Cape Coral on Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Southeast Van Loon Terrace.

Cape Coral police are looking for a suspect in the shooting. They have not said whether they have a suspect.

The shooting happened at a home with children inside. Police found a victim in a bedroom laying on the floor with a gunshot wound to his leg.

WINK News witnessed officers going in and out of the home and garage and using flashlights to look around the driveway and into the windows.

WINK saw police in the home’s garage talking to two residents, one of whom was a child. At least five bullet holes are visible on one side of the house.

One community member who heard everything says that around 2 a.m. he heard several gunshots, agreeing with another neighbor that they may have come from an automatic weapon. He also says he heard one of the women inside the home scream.
