Two men were killed Monday night in a crash with a semitruck on Luckett Road in Lee County.

A car driven by one of the unidentified men, with the other unidentified man as his passenger, was traveling west on Luckett Road at a high rate of speed around 8 p.m. A semitruck driven by a 42-year-old Fort Myers man was traveling east on Luckett Road. An unoccupied SUV was parked near the secondary area of the collision.

The unidentified driver lost control, causing the car to swerve onto the eastbound travel lane and collide with the semitruck before traveling off the roadway left and colliding with a telephone pole. Debris from the car collided with the unoccupied SUV.

The driver and passenger of the car were pronounced dead at the scene, with their identification still pending. The driver of the semitruck was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
