Child hit, seriously injured in Collier County crash

A young girl was hit and injured in Collier County. This happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old Naples man was driving west in his car along Coronado Parkway. As he approached Hunter Road, he changed lanes.

FHP says a 12-year-old girl was trying to cross Coronado Parkway. That’s when the front driver’s side of the car hit her.

The girl was then transported to a hospital, where she remains in serious condition.

This crash remains under investigation.
