The Charlotte Harbor Water Association issued a precautionary boil water notice for all of its customers on Tuesday.

Charlotte Harbor Water Association says a water main break caused its system pressure to drop below 20 pounds per square inch. As a result, the water association has issued a precautionary boil water notice.

It is recommended that water used for drinking, cooking, ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled for at least one minute.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey can be conducted to show that the water is safe to drink. If you have any questions about the boil water notice, you can call the Charlotte Harbor Water Association at 941-625-2288.
