A woman has been arrested on a charge of accessory after the fact for second-degree murder.

Monica Petrosian, 42, is a second suspect in the murder of a man whose body was discovered buried in a shallow grave in Golden Gate Estates last year.

“Two people preyed on a vulnerable member of our community and now both are in custody,” Sheriff Rambosk said. “Detectives have worked nonstop on this case since this horrific crime. They should be commended for their diligence, hard work and persistence which led to this second arrest.”

Petrosian is being held on $100,000 bond in the Collier County jail following her arrest on a felony warrant over the weekend.

Detectives already arrested Michael Allen Pritchard, 35, on a second-degree murder charge. He has been held without bond since his arrest on Dec. 3.

Detectives began their investigation after receiving information from a witness who said Pritchard confessed to having shot the victim and to burying the body next to Pritchard’s house.

The victim, who was physically handicapped, had previously been reported missing.

Detectives searched Pritchard’s home and surrounding property on 10th Avenue Northeast where they discovered the body of the missing man buried in a shallow grave near the residence as described by the witness.

Further investigation by detectives found Petrosian assisted Pritchard after the murder.
