A three-vehicle crash in Cape Coral on Wednesday sent three people to the hospital.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. on Del Prado Boulevard near Beach Parkway.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department, an unknown vehicle made a U-turn causing 33-year-old Michele Juliette Witlin to overcorrect her vehicle into the incoming traffic.

Cape Coral police said the unknown vehicle’s left turn required very little reaction from Witlin.

Witlin’s vehicle then collided, head-on, with a beige Lexus, driven by 74-year-old Berge Harry Aslanian. Aslanian suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

A third vehicle then collided with Aslanian. The driver of the third vehicle, Stephen Henry Pohlman, 67, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Witlin’s injuries are now listed as serious, Cape Coral police said.

Police said that drugs and alcohol are a factor in the crash, but did not specify who may have been under the influence.

No arrests have been made.
