William Reese (CREDIT: WINK News) A Cape Coral man has been charged with second-degree murder as a result of a September shooting that caused the death of his roommate. On September 13, Cape Coral Police officers responded to a shooting at 1229 SW 18th Avenue. Officers found a 90-year-old man dead with a gunshot wound and took William Reese, 68, into custody. Reese was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon/ammo by a convicted felon, and remained in the Lee County Jail while CCPD Major Crimes Unit detectives investigated the circumstances of the shooting. A warrant was submitted and approved, and Reese has now been additionally charged with second-degree murder. He remains in the Lee County Jail.
