Credit: Google Maps A Naples man has been arrested and faces a DUI charge after troopers say he drove the wrong way on US-41, causing a three-vehicle crash that seriously injured another driver near Lely on Sunday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV driven by a 49-year-old Naples man was traveling east in the westbound lanes of US-41 around 10:45 p.m. A pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old man and a car driven by a 62-yar-old man, both also from Naples, were traveling west on US-41. The SUV collided head-on with the pickup truck and the car then collided with the truck’s rear. The pickup’s driver was transported with serious injuries to Lee Memorial Hospital. The driver of the SUV was placed under arrest by troopers and faces a charge of DUI involving an injury and property damage. The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
