As Trump’s lawyers try to block the White House from releasing records to the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, the former president faces a flurry of other investigations that could come to a head in the coming weeks and the new year. That includes two major state criminal investigations — one in New York and one in Georgia — and lawsuits concerning sexual assault allegations, a fight over an inheritance and questions of whether he should be held personally liable for inciting the insurrection. Former President Donald Trump is in town for a VIP Christmas event in Naples, but to get in exclusive attendees have to pay a hefty price tag.

Known for huge rallies former President Trump planed a low-key night in Naples.

Naples Winter Christmas is an exclusive event. 90 people maximum. Every one of them paying between $10,000 and $30,000. No cameras allowed.

Frank Schwerin, the chairman of the Collier County Republican Executive Committee said, “a lot of candidates come and go. They come to Naples they don’t tell us they’re here and they leave with many dollars in their pockets.”

Schwerin didn’t get a heads up Trump was coming and didn’t get an invite either.

He’s not alone. Southwest Florida GOP leaders told WINK News they either found out about the event from us, or on social media.

“If you want to raise a lot of money, you want to make the people that go to the event feel super special,” said Schwerin.

WINK News tried to talk with the man behind the event but did not get a response, but organizer Brad Keltner told the New York Daily News that Trump will get some of the money raised but most will go to charity.

The event organizers have not said charities they will be donating that money to.

Schwerin said, “it’s for charity so I don’t think there is any political connection but maybe you’ll find out differently. I don’t know.”
