There is a prescribed burn scheduled for Thursday in a 310-acre area in Flint Strand West, north of Strand Road, in southern Lee County near the Collier County border.

With wind out of the north, there is a likelihood of seeing or smelling smoke south of the burn and in the surrounding area.

Anyone experiencing asthmatic symptoms is asked to stay indoors and away from the smoke.

The fire is the responsibility of the Florida Forest Service, which is conducting the burn.
