A small engine plane crashed in rural Hendry County on Tuesday injuring its pilot.
The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office said dispatchers received reports about the downed plane at around 4 p.m.
The pilot suffered minor injuries but was transported to a nearby medical facility to be evaluated, the sheriff’s office said.
The pilot told authorities the plane began to lose power, but he was able to safely land without damage to nearby property and with minimal injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and will be conducting an additional investigation.
