WINK News first told you about a Lehigh Acres shooting that injured four people on Tuesday. Now, we’re hearing from a man who says a bullet from that shooting flew through his window.

That man didn’t want to speak on camera but said he was shocked to find glass on his bed and the bullet near his dresser.

The shooting took place on Cervantes Street East at around 3 a.m. The scene was east of Homestead Road, not far from Mirror Lakes Elementary School.

When that bullet entered his home, the neighbor thought there was an electrical problem. But, when he saw the bullet hole in his bedroom window and the glass on the bed where he was sleeping, he was surprised.

Dee W. lives in the neighborhood as well. “Could have been anybody’s house,” she said.

WINK News also spoke to this neighbor whose house was in the line of fire as well. “Kind of surprised because like… surprised they didn’t come through our house. And I’m like actually happy that they didn’t come through our house,” said Dee.

The neighbor noticed that scene on Tuesday while she was walking her dog. Knowing how close those rounds came to hitting her home was terrifying for her to think about.

Other families nearby said this has always been and usually is a peaceful neighborhood. “It’s scary right now because … it’s never trouble here,” said Fredy A.

Because his home is so close to the shooting scene and the fact that a bullet struck his neighbor’s house makes Fredy rethink his family’s safety. “I have a family. I have two kids and my wife in here. And it’s scary,” he said.

Investigators are still searching for the person(s) responsible for the shooting that injured four. It happened just two streets away from the home where the window was smashed. The man who lives there is planning to press charges once detectives find the shooter(s).
