Lee County Utilities have issued a precautionary boil water notice for more than 700 homes and 35 businesses after discovering damage to a water main near Prescott Street and San Carlos Boulevard. The notice applies to all of the homes and businesses in the area outlined in the photo above. Lee County Utilities says the area runs from 18100 San Carlos Boulevard to the Matanzas Bridge. Lee County Utilities recommends you boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes for at least one minute, or use bottled water. The utility expects to have service returned by 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
