According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 20-year-old man was traveling east on Oil Well Road, just east of Immokalee Road, around 6:30 p.m. An SUV driven by a 57-year-old Naples man was traveling west in the left turn lane of Oil Well Road, attempting to turn into a 7-Eleven parking lot. As the SUV began to turn left, the motorcycle collided with its right side. The motorcycle came to rest between the east and westbound lanes of Oil Well Road. The driver was transported to Naples Community Hospital and later pronounced dead. The crash investigation remains ongoing. Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
