Raided south Fort Myers massage parlor under investigation, scrutiny by landlord

Natural Oil Spa on McGregor Blvd. has been under surveillance for a while. The business, once-promising “soothing” massages, is now the center of an investigation.

Lee County detectives spent hours there on Tuesday, taking out boxes of evidence.

After they packed up, those same detectives drove straight to a house in Cape Coral to search some more.

The home along SW 21st Avenue, just south of Veterans Parkway belongs to an owner of the spa.

David Kaplan, the owner of Mystical Bookshop said it’s not the first time law enforcement has been seen outside the spa. “Over the last three months, we’ve seen a lot of police activity.”

That’s because, in July, deputies arrested a woman who worked at the spa for prostitution.

Since that arrest, the landlord told WINK News that he has tried to evict the owner of Natural Oil Spa.

WINK News has learned that the registered lease owner of Natural Oil Spa also owned Lavender Oil Spa. That massage parlor was the center of another investigation in 2019 where deputies arrested an employee at that spa for prostitution.

People who work near the Natural Oil Spa said even without law enforcement activity, they felt something was up.

“We walk our dog Merlin across the way here in the grassy area and there were women who were dressed rather provocatively coming in and out of the back area stuff like that,” said Kaplan.

Tariq Castillo, the owner of Salon Levo said, “I just think it’s unfortunate knowing that could be happening especially right under our nose we never expect that.”

The sheriff’s office will not say what the latest investigation into this business is all about.

A report says deputies got a tip about the spa month ago and the special victims unit started investigating.
