The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing Lehigh Acres teen and her daughter.

Deputies say 16-year-old Jareline Mojica and her one-month-old daughter Kailini were last seen on November 7 at their 13th Street Southwest home in Lehigh Acres.

The teen’s mother said she saw her daughter sleeping with the baby on the couch Sunday morning. But once she returned to the home, they were both gone. Her mom says the 16-year-old has run away before but, this time she believes they’re in danger.

“When the kids are not under the parents’ supervision, the only thing you can think of is the worst,” the mother said.

Jareline’s mother did not want to go on camera but says she saw both her daughter and the baby when she got home from work at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. “She was sleeping with the baby on the couch you know. And the baby had the playpen. But when the baby started crying maybe was about 4-4:30 I tried to wake her up to make sure she fed the baby,” she said.

The mom later went back to sleep. But when she woke up again, just hours later, they were gone. “I thought she was in the room. She wasn’t in the room. The window was open and [the] curtain was slid out,” she said.

Jareline does not have a cell phone, so her mother doesn’t know if she or the baby are in serious danger. She says, “I’ll be outside looking for her.”

Sheriff’s deputies say Jareline has black hair and brown eyes and is 5’4. They say she was last seen wearing a red and white shirt with red shorts. Jareline’s daughter Kailini has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a pink and beige pajama onesie with stars on it.

The teen’s mother is begging anyone who knows where the two are to come forward. “I love her I miss her and I hope she’s safe.”

Deputies ask that if you have any information on the whereabouts of these two missing people you give them a call at 239-477-1000, or by calling the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
