The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has announced they found a missing 2-month-old last known to be in North Fort Myers.

Matthew Smith, who went missing when he was 1-week old, has been found safe, according to FDLE.

It’s unclear how the child went missing. Authorities have not said where or with whom the child was found.

Authorities sent out a missing child alert for Matthew on Friday night. He had been last seen at an Airbnb in North Fort Myers in August. The Airbnb is in the 13000 block of Fern Trail Drive in the Willow Creek Community.

Matthew was missing since August 16, according to FDLE. He was last seen with his parents, Monica Myers, 25, and Ben Smith Jr., 54.

Authorities were asking for information on the whereabouts of the infant, Smith, or Myers by calling the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 239-477-1000.
