One person was shot and killed in Lehigh Acres on Thursday.

The shooting happened after an argument between two men at Dora Circle and 28th Street West. It drew a large police presence.

On Friday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said they found two men with gunshot wounds. One died. The second man was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

People living nearby said they heard dozens of shots ring out.

One neighbor said that they even saw two people parked next to each other in the street arguing in the same area that deputies are investigating. They said they believe at least one person has died, but the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has not released if anyone was injured or killed as a result of the shooting.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office blocked off the street from view with a tall black barrier shortly after they arrived.

The School District of Lee County said student walkers and bus riders were not being immediately being dismissed at Harnes Marsh Middle School due to a lockout as a result of off-campus law enforcement activity during the afternoon.

Sheriff’s deputies have said that there is no danger to the public.
