Credit: Google Maps A 59-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in a Charlotte County residential community Wednesday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Port Charlotte woman was riding her motorcycle south on Dimstead Street, approaching Agate Street in South Gulf Cove around 6:30 p.m. when it veered off the roadway right and overturned, throwing the woman from the vehicle. The motorcycle came to rest on the west shoulder of Dimstead Street and the woman was transported to Englewood Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
