Afternoon heat index values climb into the triple-digits

Highs return to the 90s under increasing cloud cover.

Thanks to our recent surge of humidity, triple-digit “feels like” temperatures are in the forecast for much of Southwest Florida.

Scattered storms will begin after lunchtime. These will likely stay below severe limits, with isolated flooding being their primary hazard.

Our scattered rain chances will stick around through the weekend.

Boaters will be delighted with the conditions they encounter on the water today (given they can dodge the storms).

There is a disturbance with a low (20%) chance of formation off the Georgia coastline. This will continue to move away from Florida and have minimal impacts on our local weather. Otherwise, we are not tracking any additional disturbances or named storms in the Atlantic.
