The Fort Myers Police department is looking for the person responsible for an overnight shooting at the Sea Chest motel.

A person who was there when the shooting occurred says the bullets just missed them. They say the shooting happened in front of the Sea Chest motel on First Street in Fort Myers right before the Edison Bridge.

Police say no one was hurt, but a red minivan parked outside of the motel was hit. They say the shooter appeared to have shot at the van, leaving it with bullet holes and deflated tires. Police say they recovered several shell casings that were left behind.

The Fort Myers Police Department has not said exactly what time the shooting took place, or any information on a suspect, but they say they are still searching for the shooter.
