Gulf Coast Humane Society executive director Galloway steps down
After a little more than 10 years as the leader of Gulf Coast Humane Society, Executive Director Jennifer Galloway announced Monday she is stepping down from her position.
“I am very proud of what I have been able to accomplish during my time at GCHS,” Galloway shared in her post. “Being able to basically rebuild every portion of the facility back up to one which provides safety and comfort to all the shelter animals was a goal reached.”
Gary Willoughby will assume the role as executive director after he was selected following a nationwide search. Willoughby was most recently serving as the Erie County (Buffalo, New York) President and CEO of the SPCA.
“I am confident in Gary’s experience and philosophy in animal welfare, and that GCHS will continue to blossom and grow underneath his leadership,” Galloway wrote in her farewell message.
Galloway is not completely done yet. She plans to return as a member of the board of directors.
“I believe that bar has been raised, and GCHS has a strong foundation to thrive into the future,” Galloway wrote in her post.
