Happy Saturday, SW Florida!

For your weekend, expect scattered storms for this afternoon, with a little bit lower of a storm chance for Sunday. Otherwise, expect highs around 90 for the next couple of days.

The 11 P.M. national advisory from the National Hurricane Center has Sam as a category 4 hurricane. It has maximum sustained winds of 145 mph.

Sam should avoid the Lesser Antilles, and head generally out to sea, though Bermuda should keep an eye on Sam. It is not a threat to Florida.

Meanwhile, Subtropical Storm Teresa formed yesterday and will soon dissipate. Teresa poses no threat to SW Florida. Otherwise, another disturbance near the Cabo Verde Islands could develop as it moves westward over the next several days. The next name on the list is Victor.
