Credit: Shared with WINK News. A man jumped to the rescue to save a family from high water during a rainy day in Southwest Florida. A woman says her boyfriend carried her mom from a car that was stuck in floodwater. It was all caught on camera. Davina Gonzalez says her 83-year-old mother was stuck in her car on a flooded Fowler Street during strong storms in Fort Myers Tuesday afternoon. What started as fear turned into relief. Gonzalez watched as her boyfriend carried her mom to safety after a frightening afternoon drive. THANK YOU! A disabled woman’s car stalled today in Fort Myers and that’s when Robert Shaw stepped up. He rushed over, lifted his girlfriend’s mom out of the car and through the street flooding to safety. Well done sir! We could hear the thunder. That made me nervous going through the water.” But Gonzalez says her boyfriend remained calm. “As soon as we got there, he knew what to do,” Gonzalez said. “He didn’t worry. Don’t worry, I got this.” Gonzalez says her mother gave her boyfriend a big kiss after she was safely in the car. “That made him smile,” Gonzalez said.
