A family literacy nonprofit called Grace Place for Children and Families in Golden Gate hopes to prevent disadvantaged children from falling behind their classmates through a new partnership with Core Health Partners.

They will soon offer free developmental screening, diabetes testing, physical and occupational therapy, and more.

The services are offered on-site so it’s convenient and comfortable for families.

Boryana Jimenez, of North Naples, said, “It is hard to find the right therapist or just hard to get out there and find a therapist to start with.”

Grace Place CEO Lara Fisher explained, “For us to be able to provide services that are affordable and free to families in this community is really really important because money is tight not just during COVID, but here in golden gate poverty is a very real thing every day for our families.”

Core Health Partners tells us it’s important to identify developmental problems in children early so strategies can be put in place to address delays and get kids on the right track.
