Happy Monday, Southwest Florida.

Highs will climb to the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon.

After a mostly dry start, showers and thunderstorms will begin forming around lunchtime. These rain chances will become scattered into the evening.

The lowest opportunity to see rain will be on Wednesday. Scattered chances return to end the week.

There are currently two named storms and two disturbances in the Atlantic.

We have been tracking the disturbance that became Tropical Storm Peter for over a week now.

Peter’s latest forecast takes it back to the mid-Atlantic. It does not look likely that this will have any impact on the mainland United States.

Tropical Storm Rose formed off the coastline of Africa Sunday.

Just like Peter, Rose will likely remain out at sea before falling apart in the mid-Atlantic.

There is a disturbance that has emerged from Africa with a medium (60%) chance of formation by the end of the week. This is over 3,000 miles away from Florida and will be something to pay more attention to next week.

We also have a disturbance in the northern Atlantic. This has a low (30%) chance of forming and would likely stay away from the U.S. for its lifespan.
