Small plane crash lands at Lake Venice Golf Club, occupants uninjured

Two people emerged uninjured after their Cessna 172 experienced engine trouble while flying over Venice and made a crash landing on Thursday.

According to the City of Venice, the pilot was able to put the plane on the ground at Lake Venice Golf Club, 1801 Harbor Dr. S., west of Venice Municipal Airport around 10 a.m.

The Cessna came to rest upside-down. Venice Police, Fire Rescue, and airport staff responded.

No injuries were reported for either occupant and the FAA was notified.
