A suspected Naples drug dealer was arrested and faces multiple drug-related charges including trafficking fentanyl after a traffic stop.

Pedro Regueiro, 48, of Naples, faces charges of trafficking fentanyl, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license.

A deputy pulled over Regueiro for a traffic stop on Golden Gate Boulevard and 1st Street SW around noon Sunday after they say he was driving 60 mph in a 45 mph.

According to CCSO, as the deputy spoke with Regueiro he saw him trying to hide a small plastic bag containing what later was determined to be heroin in his right hand.

Once deputies ordered Regueiro out of his Jeep they found additional felony amounts of illegal narcotics and paraphernalia including a digital scale and plastic bags inside.

Regueiro was transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk is lauding deputies for removing dangerous illegal opioids from the street and arresting a suspected drug dealer during a traffic stop Sunday.

“Illegal drugs have no place in our community and I am proud of the proactive police work like this that our deputies perform day in and day out to keep Collier County safe.”
