The Charlotte County school board has said they’re done talking about masks.

A mandate to require masks will no longer be discussed or even debated, the board says.

The board initially considered requiring school and district staff to get the vaccine, but ultimately decided not to do that either.

Instead, they will draft a letter that the district will post saying that they support the vaccine and support mask-wearing, but both will remain optional.

The School District of Lee County has chosen to mandate masks with no opt-out, except with a medical exemption from a doctor.

Collier County Public Schools have not addressed the issue recently and have kept masks fully optional.
