Man faces second-degree murder charge for deadly Circle K shooting

A man now faces second-degree murder for a shooting death at a Circle K convenience store on Orange River Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno said during a news conference that the suspect sped away after the shooting. Using cameras and technology in the Real-Time Crime Center, they tracked the vehicle and he was found driving on I-75 by Fort Myers police.

Jose Espichan, 26, was arrested 45 minutes after the shooting Carmine said.

“The tools we use to investigate crimes are highly advanced and my deputies are the best of the best,” he added.
