An Immokalee man was arrested for allegedly taking a 13-year-old girl from Texas and traveling to Immokalee and engaging in sexual acts with her.

Francis Ivan Ramos Lopez, 33, was booked into Collier County jail on Tuesday after extradition from Texas.

According to an arrest warrant, the girl went missing from Texas on June 13, 2020. She was found after she posted photos of herself with Ramos Lopez.

Ramos Lopez was a neighbor of hers in Fort Worth, Texas.

According to the warrant, the girl was found on Sept. 9, 2020, in a shed behind a home in Immokalee. She told authorities she had been living in the shed with Ramos Lopez after the two left Texas.

“The victim disclosed that she had been dating the suspect for approximately 6 months,” the warrant states.

She told authorities Ramos Lopez engaged in sexual conduct with her.

Records indicate Ramos Lopez was also wanted in Lee County for a stolen vehicle. He was stopped by a Lee County deputy on July 9 in the area of Burgundy Farms Road Corkscrew Road. The vehicle he was driving in was stolen but he was given a notice to appear, records show.

Authorities were unable to find Ramos Lopez after finding the girl in the shed.

He was found in Texas this week.

He is facing charges of lewd and lascivious battery and interfering with custody, according to arrest records.
