WINK News’ partners at Gulfshore Business honored this year’s 40 Under 40 honorees,  some of the people that have kept Southwest Florida going through business and nonprofit work last year, at the Coconut Hyatt.

WINK News anchor Lindsey Sablan emceed the annual event, which recognized a doctor, several lawyers, business owners and others who have played pivotal roles in our community.

Jacob Winge works for an in-home senior care company but started getting involved with the community at a young age.

“I skipped school when I was 14 to go to a board of county commissioners meeting and I’ve never looked back,” Winge said. “Other people skip school to go to the beach. My mom skipped school to go to the beach, drive to Sanibel. I went to the board of county commissioner’s meetings.”

The honorees are nominated in February before a panel of judges narrows the list. You can read about each person in September’s issue of Gulfshore Business. You can signup for a free digital subscription.
