C-17 Globemaster III comes to Florida International Air Show

The C-17 is the latest airlift aircraft to be added to the Air Force’s inventory. Now, it will be making its way to the Florida International Air Show this year.

The C-17 measure 174 feet long and has a wingspan of 170 feet. These aircraft function primarily to transport cargo and troops.

While it is a large aircraft, it is said to be able to land on strips as narrow as 90 feet wide.

C-17s first took to the sky on September 15, 1991. These aircraft can carry almost 171,000 pounds of cargo.

If you’re interested in seeing C-17s and other aircraft take to the skies this October, you get tickets to the Florida International Air Show. The air show will be held on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17 at Punta Gorda Airport. The airport is located at Challenger Blvd, Punta Gorda, FL 33982.
