FHP looking for driver who hit bicyclist in Charlotte County

A 30-year-old bicyclist in Charlotte County was critically injured late Saturday when a car struck him and kept going.

Florida Highway Patrol said an unknown vehicle was heading west on Bermont Road, west of Bronco Road, when it struck the cyclist. This location is about halfway between SR-31 and US-17.

The vehicle fled the scene and continued traveling west on Bermont Road.

The crash happened at about 10:58 p.m.
